About Pacific Pulse

An independent fan project tracking Japanese players across Major League Baseball — day by day, game by game.

Why this exists

There isn't a single bilingual home for following Japanese players across the league, so I'm building one. Pacific Pulse is made by a fan, for fans. No advertising, no subscriptions, no commercial intent — now or ever.

Data

Player and statistical data is sourced from the publicly available MLB Stats API. Numbers refresh daily after games are final. The site may occasionally be incomplete or delayed; please don't rely on it for anything decision-critical.

Player illustrations

The player portraits throughout the site are original illustrations generated with AI tools and curated by the project. They are stylized, non-photographic interpretations intended to evoke each player's identity for editorial purposes. They are not endorsed by any player, team, or the league.

Trademarks

MLB, the team names, logos, uniforms, and all related marks are property of Major League Baseball and the respective clubs. Pacific Pulse references these solely to identify the players and teams being discussed.

Credits

The Japan map used in the birthplace popup is derived from svg-maps/japan (MIT license). Year-by-year statistics are sourced from publicly available pages on the Japanese-language Wikipedia and npb.jp where noted in the codebase.

Affiliation disclaimer

Pacific Pulse is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Major League Baseball, MLB Advanced Media, or any MLB club, player, or league entity. All editorial content represents the views of the author and not of any player or organization.
